About The Position

The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care through outcome identification and evidence-based practice. As an integral member of the healthcare team, the RN coordinates care and communicates and collaborates with team members, patients, and patients’ families or significant others, while maintaining high standards of professional ethics. The role is based at Virtua Health’s Voorhees location and is a per-diem, on-site night-shift position.

Requirements

Demonstrated knowledge of nursing skills, hospital practices, procedures, and standards.
Valid New Jersey RN license; approved licenses must be presented and maintained in accordance with the State of New Jersey Licensing Board.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to coordinate the efforts of a team of care providers.
Maintain current nursing practice knowledge through ongoing education, journals, and similar resources.

Responsibilities

Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care.
Administer, monitor, and document therapeutic interventions and regimes.
Effectively manage rapidly changing situations.
Participate in clinical decision-making.
Educate patients and their families or responsible parties about disease processes, individual care needs, wellness, and safety issues.
Delegate and monitor care provided by other members of the nursing department and healthcare team.
Follow standard precautions and patient safety principles.
Participate in orientation, education, and development of the healthcare team.
Identify and participate in performance improvement activities.
Maintain professional and departmental competencies.
