About The Position

Mercy Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for Labor & Delivery. The position provides independent clinical care to patients as part of a dedicated team, delivering evidence-based, high-quality care in labor and delivery, the OB operating room, and the triage area. The nurse provides primary care for antepartum and immediate postpartum high-risk obstetrical patients and serves as a resource for other team members. Mercy’s Labor and Delivery Unit, part of the Family Childbirth and Children’s Center, performs approximately 250–300 births per month.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree from an accredited nursing school.
• Registered Nurse license to practice in Maryland, or ability to obtain a Maryland license within the licensing board’s timeframe.
• Healthcare Provider-Level CPR certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP).
• Obtain EfM (external fetal monitoring) certification within 18 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, or agreement to enroll within six months of employment.
• 1–2 or more years of clinical nursing experience is strongly preferred; new graduates with focused practicum or technician experience in L&D will be considered.
