About The Position

The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department at Seaforth Community Hospital. This is a Temporary Part-Time B position, requiring a commitment of 22.5 hours in a 2-week period. HPHA is a multi-site organization committed to proactive change, partnerships, performance, and valuing its people to advance the healthcare system.

Requirements

Current registered member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Recent/related courses, in-services in Emergency/Critical Care Nursing
Ability to work effectively with patients and colleagues
Ability to work independently, with excellent communication skills
Ability to plan, organize and problem solve
Decisive and sound judgement in handling difficult situations
Excellent client counselling, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and effectively interact as a team member in an interdisciplinary setting.
Effective leader, organizer and planner capable of making timely decisions and exercising tact and good judgement.
Effective time management skills.

Nice To Haves

Recent clinical experience (minimum two years) in Emergency/Critical Care Nursing
Advance Paediatric Life Support (APLS) or Paediatric Advance Life Support (PALS)
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
Emergency Nursing Certificate (ENC)
Emergency Trauma Life Support (ETLS)
Trauma Management

Responsibilities

Paediatric and adult assessment, including triage
12 lead ECG Interpretation
May be assigned to accompany patients on transfer
Visible and approachable for patients, families and staff with ongoing communication regarding patient monitoring and evaluation of activities.
Forty Five (45) minute return time will be required when scheduled for standby
