About The Position

The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This is a Regular Part-Time position located in Seaforth, ON and Clinton, ON. HPHA is a multi-site organization committed to proactive change, partnerships, performance, and valuing its people to advance the healthcare system. The role involves providing care within the Emergency Department, requiring a current registered membership with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), and skills in paediatric and adult assessment, triage, ECG interpretation, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Requirements

  • Current registered member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Paediatric and adult assessment, including triage
  • 12 lead ECG Interpretation
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Recent/related courses, in-services in Emergency/Critical Care Nursing
  • Ability to work effectively with patients and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently, with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to plan, organize and problem solve
  • Decisive and sound judgement in handling difficult situations
  • Excellent client counselling, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and effectively interact as a team member in an interdisciplinary setting.
  • Effective leader, organizer and planner capable of making timely decisions and exercising tact and good judgement.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Forty Five (45) minute return time will be required when scheduled for standby

Nice To Haves

  • Recent clinical experience (minimum two years) in Emergency/Critical Care Nursing
  • Advance Paediatric Life Support (APLS) or Paediatric Advance Life Support (PALS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • Emergency Nursing Certificate (ENC)
  • Emergency Trauma Life Support (ETLS)
  • Trauma Management

Responsibilities

  • Paediatric and adult assessment, including triage
  • 12 lead ECG Interpretation
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • May be assigned to accompany patients on transfer
  • Visible and approachable for patients, families and staff with ongoing communication regarding patient monitoring and evaluation of activities.
