About The Position

Hartford HealthCare is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Medicine Intensive Care Unit at Hartford Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center and teaching hospital. The 16-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit cares for patients with complex, highly acute conditions, including respiratory failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver or kidney injury or failure, sepsis, and drug and alcohol withdrawal. The unit operates 24 hours a day and is staffed by physician assistants, advanced practice registered nurses, and medical house staff physicians under the supervision of a Critical Care Pulmonologist. The ICU Registered Nurse provides skilled bedside care and works collaboratively with the healthcare team to achieve high-quality, compassionate patient outcomes. The position offers opportunities to develop clinical skills in a fast-paced environment that challenges critical thinking, medical knowledge, communication, and clinical expertise.

Requirements

Current Connecticut RN license.
Graduation from an accredited nursing school; a BSN is required.
American Heart Association BLS certification required before the date of hire.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of acute care Registered Nurse experience is strongly preferred.
In exceptional circumstances, experienced RNs with an ADN/ASN who are pursuing a BSN or MSN may be considered.
Graduate Nurses are encouraged to apply through the Critical Care Graduate Nurse Program.
