Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit provides nursing care to ICU patients at Centerpoint – Winchester. The role includes implementing care interventions, documenting care, monitoring and communicating patient conditions, assisting with activities of daily living, coordinating care across disciplines, providing education to patients and families, and advocating for patients’ physical and emotional well-being. This is a full-time night position scheduled for three 12-hour shifts (7 p.m.–7 a.m.) with rotating weekends. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered. Centerpoint – Winchester is expanding its ICU, increasing capacity by 75% with six additional beds beyond its current eight. The expansion also includes an expanded ACU unit and space for a new surgical suite.
Requirements
- Current RN license from Kentucky or a compact state.
- Degree from an accredited nursing school.
- Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 10 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 45 days of hire.
- Handle With Care training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities
- Perform plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
- Document patient care provided.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Coordinate patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharge, referrals, and spiritual or psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluate patient and/or family learning needs and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Advocate for patients’ physical and emotional well-being.
