About The Position
The Registered Nurse Float assists physicians in the care and teaching of patients at Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute. The role is based at the Gainesville Cancer Center and requires travel to clinics. The organization provides cancer care through clinical research, advanced treatments, and technologies.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse licensed in the state of residence.
- Experience in IV therapy.
- Ability to assess patient needs and condition.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Current CPR certification.
- BLS certification upon hire or within 30 days of employment; FCS will provide a BLS course within the first 30 days.
- Fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license for travel to clinics.
- Clear results from a background screening.
- Pass drug testing as a condition of employment.
- Receive required vaccinations, including the influenza vaccine, unless an exemption is approved.

- Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital.
