About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse position for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Atlanta, GA. The assignment is for 16 weeks, starting on 09/21/2026, with a night shift schedule of 12-hour shifts over a 4-night period. The role involves providing direct nursing care in an inpatient Intermediate Medical Care Unit (IMCU) within a hospital setting. The position offers guaranteed weekly pay and hours.

Requirements

Active Registered Nurse license in good standing (state as applicable for practice)
BLS and ACLS certifications
Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in PCU/IMCU or equivalent critical care setting
Ability to work night shift in a hospital environment
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Nursing degree from an accredited program (ASN/ADN or BSN) and willingness to adhere to assignment requirements

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care for IMCU/PCU patients with conditions such as sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, and chronic kidney disease.
Monitor patient status, perform ongoing assessments, interpret telemetry, and respond rapidly to changes in condition.
Administer medications and therapies as prescribed, including heparin drips when clinically indicated; manage IV lines and routine therapies.
Collaborate with physicians, case management, and other members of the healthcare team; document care plans, progress notes, and relevant changes in the electronic medical record.
Maintain patient safety and comfort, educate patients and families as appropriate, and participate in discharge planning and goals of care.
Adhere to unit protocols, infection control practices, and quality improvement initiatives; manage equipment and ensure accurate charting and reporting.
