New Grad Registered Nurse Residency Progressive Care
About The Position
The New Grad Registered Nurse Residency is a role in the Progressive Care Unit at Providence in Waco, Texas. The ANCC-accredited Nurse Residency Program, recognized through the Practice Transition Accreditation Program® with distinction, supports new graduate and early-career nurses as they transition into professional practice. Nurses learn in a collaborative, patient-centered environment through hands-on experience and dedicated mentorship. December 2026 graduates are eligible for consideration. The schedule is full-time nights, with the Winter 2027 residency cohort starting January 19 or February 15.
Requirements
- Obtain BLS Provider certification within 30 days of the hire date or job transfer date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
- Obtain Registered Nurse credentials from the Texas Board of Nursing before the hire date or job transfer date.
- Have a diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or professional licensure at the time of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Less than one year of RN experience.
Responsibilities
- Partner with an RN preceptor to support patient care through observation, documentation, and clear communication.
- Assist with physician and nursing care plans to help deliver safe, coordinated care.
- Monitor, communicate, and document changes in patient condition.
- Strengthen clinical thinking and judgment through structured transition-to-practice experiences that support safe, competent, person-centered care.
