Registered Nurse / RN – Labor and Delivery - L&D Unit - Part-Time Days
About The Position
Texas Health Alliance is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) for their Labor and Delivery (L&D) unit. This position involves delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The role also requires incorporating age-specific safety and infection control measures, maintaining continuity of patient care, and initiating actions to meet patient and/or significant others' needs for information. The L&D unit at Texas Health Alliance is a Texas 10-step designated facility with 14 LDR Rooms, 4 OB/ED bays with 24/7 OB Hospitalists, 2 OR suites, and averages between 160 deliveries per month. The unit also includes a 24-bed Postpartum/Newborn couplet care area and holds Level III Maternal and Level III NICU designations.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required
- RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 Days of hire
- NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 Days of hire
- NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days of hire
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention training maintained annually within 90 days of hire
- 1 Year Experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program Req
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- At least 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
- CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency
Responsibilities
