Registered Nurse / RN – Labor and Delivery - L&D Unit - Part-Time Nights
About The Position
Texas Health Alliance is seeking a Part-Time Nights Registered Nurse (RN) for their Labor and Delivery (L&D) unit. This role involves delivering care to patients using the Nursing Process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The nurse will incorporate age-specific safety and infection control measures, maintain continuity of patient care, and initiate actions to meet patient and/or significant others' needs for information. The L&D unit at Texas Health Alliance features 14 LDR Rooms, 4 OB/ED bays with 24/7 OB Hospitalists, 2 OR suites, averages between 160 deliveries per month, and has a 24-bed Postpartum/Newborn couplet care unit. The facility holds a Level III Maternal designation and a Level III NICU.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required
- RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 Days of hire
- NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 Days of hire Req
- NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days of hire
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention training maintained annually within 90 days of hire
- 1 Year Experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program Req
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- At least 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
- Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency
Responsibilities
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
- Delivery of high quality of patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice.
