About The Position
The Siratt Women's Center at Texas Health Hurst Euless Bedford (HEB) Hospital has a PRN opportunity for an experienced Labor and Delivery (L&D) RN. This role is part of the L&D Department which includes a 9-bed L&D unit, a 4-bed OB ED, and 3 OR suites, with an average of 200 deliveries per month. The department supports a Level III NICU and Maternal Designation III, caring for a wide range of patients including those requiring nitrous oxide, midwifery care, and high-risk interventions.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required
- RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
- ACLS – within 90 days of hire
- NRP – within 90 days of hire
- NRPA - within 90 days of hire
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training - within 90 days of hire
- 1 Year experience as a Registered Nurse required
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- 1 year of RN experience in L&D strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
