About The Position
AvaMed Workforce is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide nursing care to incarcerated patients in the medical unit at Mule Creek State Prison in Ione, California. This is a six-month contract assignment from November 30, 2026, through May 30, 2027. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with a 30-minute meal break. The assignment includes one week of orientation. Pay details are available by contacting the employer.
Requirements
- Active California RN license through the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Acute care or medical-surgical experience.
- Background check and facility security clearance.
- TB test, immunizations, and facility health clearances.
Nice To Haves
- Correctional experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to incarcerated patients on a medical unit.
- Administer medications and treatments and accurately document care.
- Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate with providers and custody staff.
- Follow all safety, security, and contraband procedures.
