Mayo Clinic•Phoenix, AZ

About The Position

Mayo Clinic is hiring seasonal inpatient Registered Nurses for its Seasonal Inpatient Float Pool during the winter season. Nurses provide care across Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units, Progressive Care Units (PCUs), and flexible care areas, supporting diverse patient populations and expanding their clinical expertise. The organization is Magnet-recognized and emphasizes nursing excellence, autonomy, teamwork, and professional growth. Seasonal Float Pool RNs complete the same comprehensive department orientation as permanent staff, including the Foundations of Critical Care Nursing (FCCN) program. The blended online and instructor-led curriculum prepares nurses for Progressive Care practice by strengthening critical thinking and clinical decision-making and building confidence in caring for higher-acuity patients. The anticipated assignment runs from October 2026 through March 2027. After the season, nurses may remain supplemental/PRN employees and return for future seasons or apply for a permanent Mayo Clinic nursing position. The RN coordinates nursing care, including direct patient care, patient and family education, and transitions of care. Within Mayo Clinic’s Nursing Professional Practice Model and the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, the RN plans, implements, evaluates, and communicates all phases of care for assigned patients. The RN provides leadership through precepting, formal and informal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts; delegates care according to skill, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and available resources; and may participate in committees or projects. Some employees may be required to drive a personal vehicle as part of the role.
