About The Position
The Float Registered Nurse provides high-quality, flexible nursing care across various hospital units. The role supports the quality and continuity of patient care and helps ensure patient needs are met efficiently and effectively. The nurse delivers evidence-based care, adapts to different units and medical-surgical procedures, communicates with patients, families, and healthcare team members, provides education about care plans and health promotion, and manages emergent needs, admissions, and hospital rounds.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in Connecticut.
- At least 1 year of inpatient hospital RN experience.
- BLS certification required.
- Additional certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) may be required for certain departments.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care based on nursing theory, research, and evidence-based practices.
- Adapt to different units and medical-surgical procedures as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Educate patients and caregivers about care plans, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Manage emergent patient needs, admissions, and hospital rounds.
