About The Position

Mayo Clinic is hiring seasonal inpatient Registered Nurses for its Float Pool in Arizona during the winter season. Nurses provide care across Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Units, Progressive Care Units, and Flexible Care Areas, supporting diverse patient populations and expanding their clinical expertise. The seasonal assignment is anticipated to begin in October 2026 and conclude in March 2027. Seasonal Float Pool RNs complete the same comprehensive department orientation as permanent staff, including Mayo Clinic’s Foundations of Critical Care Nursing program. This blended online and instructor-led curriculum prepares nurses for Progressive Care practice by strengthening critical thinking and clinical decision-making and building confidence in caring for higher-acuity patients. Nurses may remain supplemental/PRN employees and return for future seasons, or apply for a permanent nursing position at Mayo Clinic. The RN coordinates nursing care, including direct patient care, patient and family education, and transitions of care. The RN plans, implements, evaluates, and communicates all phases of nursing care for assigned patients within Mayo Clinic’s Nursing Professional Practice Model and the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice. The role includes leadership through precepting, formal and informal leadership, and quality-improvement efforts. The RN delegates care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and available resources. A subset of employees may be required to drive a personal vehicle as part of the role. The position is eligible for TN sponsorship.
