About The Position

The RN Clinical Float Pool assesses, analyzes, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care according to the organization's established patient-care standards, including standards for patient assessment and transfer. The position requires flexibility to float among departments and sites within the designated hiring tier to provide patient care. Assignments may include day-of staffing needs, more than one location during a shift, travel assignments, or seasonal staffing patterns. The nurse works as part of the healthcare team in cooperation with and under the direction of a clinical manager or designee, consistent with applicable standards and scope of practice. For Tier 1, the float expectation is within a single site based on competency. The nurse supports organizational and departmental goals through quality improvement and departmental activities, advocates for patient safety, applies the professional practice model, and uses available evidence to plan and coordinate nursing care. The nurse formulates and implements an individualized plan of care, evaluates responses to interventions, and documents care as appropriate to the patient's condition and age.
