About The Position

Benchmark at Rye is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to provide nursing care to residents in a warm, comfortable, home-like environment. The nurse works with a supportive team and helps build lasting relationships with residents and associates. This is a full-time day position, scheduled 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., with pay of $36–$44 per hour.

Requirements

• Current state LPN or RN license and CPR certification.
• Graduate of an approved LPN or RN program, as required by the state.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of experience working as a nurse preferred.
• Previous experience working with elderly people in a paid or volunteer position highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assess, communicate, and document residents’ status.
• Observe and report significant changes in residents’ behavior and health to the Resident Care Director, physician, family, Resident Care Assistants, and Executive Director in accordance with state regulations.
• Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of Resident Care Assistants.
• Mentor, guide, and direct Lead Resident Care Assistants in all aspects of their work.
• Coordinate care needs with community providers through an effective case management process.
• Balance service demands with supporting residents’ independence.
• Recognize and help prevent elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and report concerns to appropriate sources in accordance with state regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response system alerts, and determine when to call for backup.
