About The Position

Hemingford Care Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide care to residents in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation community. The role serves a geriatric population receiving long-term and short-term care, with a focus on consistent, knowledgeable, and compassionate nursing care. The position is full-time days, with a scheduled shift from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Requirements

• Current active license as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information in English.
• Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift, push, or pull 50 pounds.
• Ability to see and hear, or use prosthetics that enable these senses to function adequately for the position.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in long-term geriatric nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, treatments, and IV lines.
• Record time spent performing individual treatments in accordance with the ancillary services policy on the medication/treatment record.
• Ensure proper storage and security of drugs and biologicals in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Notify the physician of medication or treatment refusals, non-compliance with a treatment plan, resident responses to medication regimens, and adverse reactions.
• Keep the medication cart, refrigerator, and room neat and clean; store medications properly and dispose of them appropriately.
• Assist in orienting and training new nursing personnel as required.
• Practice, implement, and supervise infection control, universal precaution, and safety policies and procedures.
