Registered Nurse Step Down Travel
About The Position
The Registered Nurse Step Down Travel role is based at Ascension Via Christi in Wichita, Kansas, in the Ascension Premier Staffing - Step Down department. Local and national travel options are available depending on need. Night shifts are available, with schedules of 36–48 hours per week and gross pay of up to $3,321 per week. The nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with the healthcare organization’s established policies, procedures, and protocols. The role includes implementing and monitoring patient care plans, communicating patient conditions, coordinating care across disciplines, and assessing discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
Requirements
- BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
- Registered Nurse licensure obtained before hire or job transfer.
- A compact RN license or a state RN license relevant to the travel assignment location is required before the assignment starts.
- ACLS.
- Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing.
- At least one year of RN experience in an acute care setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with the healthcare organization’s established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
