About The Position
The Detroit Medical Center Registered Nurse (RN) is a member of the Patient Care Services Team and is responsible for satisfactory completion of nursing care by the nursing team. The RN manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families, applying independent judgment and collaborating and communicating with team members, including ancillary and support services. The role encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching, and supervision. The position is at DMC Harper University Hospital, a specialty referral hospital distinguished in surgery and medicine and known for clinical expertise and innovative research. Its Centers of Excellence include neurosciences, bariatric surgery, vascular services, multidisciplinary cardiovascular services, hypertension, stroke prevention, and heart failure.
Requirements
- Graduation from a school of nursing.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan.
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.

Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and other health care providers.
- Delegate, assess, provide, and evaluate patient care.
- Provide and delegate patient care activities to team members.
- Monitor patient progress and prepare patients for discharge.
- Report directly to senior unit management and participate in shared decision-making activities.
