About The Position
The Detroit Medical Center Registered Nurse is a member of the Patient Care Services Team and is responsible for the satisfactory completion of nursing care by the nursing team. The RN manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families, using independent judgment and collaborating and communicating with team members, including ancillary and support services. The role encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching, and supervision. The RN reports directly to senior unit management and participates in shared decision-making activities. The position is at DMC Harper University Hospital, a specialty referral hospital with clinical expertise and research, and Centers of Excellence in neurosciences, bariatric surgery, vascular services, multidisciplinary cardiovascular services, hypertension, stroke prevention, and heart failure. A sign-on bonus of up to $7,500 is offered based on relevant experience.
Requirements
- Graduation from a school of nursing.
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and other health care providers.
- Delegate, assess, provide, and evaluate patient care.

- Provide leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching, and supervision as part of the nursing role.
