About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit/Step-Down Unit delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse provides direct care within the scope of practice and is accountable for the care of assigned patients. The role also includes directing and guiding patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU. The Registered Nurse communicates with physicians about changes in patients’ clinical conditions, including hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic study results, abnormal findings, and symptoms. The nurse must respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment and maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Requirements

Current and valid state RN license.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain it.
Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain it.
At least one year as a staff RN in an acute care hospital; critical care experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a Critical Care Course.
Critical Care RN (CCRN) certification.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Critical care experience.
