About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit/Step-Down Unit delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse provides direct care within the scope of practice and directs and guides patient and family teaching, as well as the activities of other nursing personnel, while maintaining standards of care. The nurse is directly responsible and accountable for care provided to assigned patients; communicates changes in clinical condition, hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic study results, abnormal findings, and symptoms to physicians; and responds promptly and accurately to changes in condition or treatment response. The role also requires maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.

Requirements

Current and valid state RN license.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
Minimum of one year as a staff RN in an acute care hospital; critical care experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a Critical Care Course.
Critical Care RN (CCRN) certification.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Critical care experience.
