Registered Nurse - Step-Down Unit
About The Position
The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit/Step-Down Unit delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse provides direct patient care within the scope of practice and is accountable for the care provided to assigned patients. The role includes guiding patient and family education and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU. The nurse communicates with physicians about changes in a patient’s clinical condition, including hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic study results, abnormal results, and symptoms, and responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Patient privacy and confidentiality must be maintained. This is a full-time day-shift position at Prime Healthcare Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois. The schedule is 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with weekend and holiday rotation.
Requirements
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain it current.
- Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
- Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain it current.
- At least one year as a staff RN in an acute care hospital; critical care experience preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a Critical Care Course.
- Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Critical care experience.
