About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the ICU Stepdown coordinates and provides safe, quality patient care using critical thinking and the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse also assists with organizing patient care activities as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate of a Registered Nurse program.
• Current Registered Nurse license.
• BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association; inexperienced RNs must obtain it within 180 days.
• Basic EKG.
• NIH Stroke certification within 60 days of hire or transfer effective date.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients’ physical, psychosocial, educational, and growth and development needs.
• Develops a written plan of care using assessment data.
• Implements the nursing care plan.
• Evaluates patients’ responses to interventions.
• Demonstrates leadership skills.
• Assists in organizing patient care activities.

Benefits
