About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the ICU Stepdown department uses critical thinking to coordinate and provide safe, quality patient care. The nurse uses the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, and assists with organizing patient care activities as assigned. This is a full-time night-shift position. Qualified candidates may receive a signing bonus of up to $15,000, paid over 24 months.

Requirements

• Graduate of a Registered Nurse program.
• Required Registered Nurse license.
• BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association; inexperienced RNs must obtain it within 180 days.
• Basic EKG certification.
• NIH Stroke certification within 60 days of hire or transfer effective date.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical, psychosocial, educational, and growth and development needs.
• Develop a written plan of care using assessment data.
• Implement the nursing care plan.
• Evaluate patients’ responses to interventions.
• Demonstrate leadership skills.
• Assist in organizing patient care activities.
