Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU Stepdown
About The Position
The Registered Nurse in the ICU Stepdown unit uses critical thinking and the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to coordinate and provide safe, quality patient care. The nurse also assists with organizing patient care activities as assigned. This is a full-time, day-shift position. Qualified candidates may receive a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000, paid over 24 months. The role is with St. Mary's Medical Center, part of the Palm Beach Health Network. The medical center is a 420-bed acute care hospital in West Palm Beach and serves Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast. It is a Level 1 Trauma Center, a state-designated Pediatric Trauma Referral Center, a certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, and has a Level III NICU. Requirements
- Graduate of a Registered Nurse program.
- Required Registered Nurse license.
- BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association; inexperienced RNs must obtain it within 180 days.
- Basic EKG certification.
- NIH Stroke certification within 60 days of hire or transfer effective date.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ physical, psychosocial, educational, and growth and development needs.
- Develop a written plan of care using assessment data.
- Implement the nursing care plan.
- Evaluate patients’ responses to interventions.
- Demonstrate leadership skills.
- Assist in organizing patient care activities.
