About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the ICU Stepdown uses critical-thinking skills to coordinate and provide safe, quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse also assists with organizing patient care activities as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Registered Nurse program.
- Required Registered Nurse license.
- BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association; inexperienced RNs must obtain it within 180 days.
- Basic EKG.
- NIH Stroke certification within 60 days of hire or transfer effective date.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ physical, psychosocial, educational, and growth and development needs.
- Develop a written plan of care using assessment data.
- Implement the nursing care plan.
- Evaluate patients’ responses to interventions.
- Demonstrate leadership skills.
- Assist with organizing patient care activities.
