About The Position

Virtua Health is hiring a part-time Registered Nurse for its Labor and Delivery department at its Voorhees location. The nurse assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care using outcome identification and evidence-based practice. As an integral member of the health care team, the nurse coordinates care and communicates and collaborates with team members, patients, and patients’ families or significant others, while maintaining high standards of professional ethics. Labor and Delivery or obstetrics experience is required.

Requirements

Labor and Delivery or obstetrics experience.
Knowledge of nursing skills, hospital practices, procedures, and standards.
Keep nursing skills current through ongoing education and review of professional journals and other resources.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to coordinate the efforts of a team of care providers.
Valid New Jersey RN license, presented and maintained in accordance with New Jersey licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care.
Administer, monitor, and document therapeutic interventions and regimes.
Effectively manage rapidly changing situations.
Participate in clinical decision-making.
Educate patients and their families or responsible parties about disease processes, individual care needs, wellness, and safety.
Delegate and monitor care provided by other members of the nursing department and health care team.
Demonstrate standard precautions and patient safety principles in practice.
Participate in orientation, education, and development of the health care team.
Identify and participate in performance improvement activities.
Maintain professional and departmental competencies.
Coordinate patient care and collaborate with health care team members, patients, and families or significant others.
