Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery - (FT 7p-7a)
About The Position
The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care through outcome identification and evidence-based practice. As an integral member of the healthcare team, the RN coordinates patient care and communicates and collaborates extensively with other healthcare team members, patients, and patients’ families or significant others. The RN maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics. This is a full-time, on-site Labor and Delivery position at Virtua Voorhees, working a 12-hour night shift from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., for 36 hours per week. Labor and Delivery/Obstetrics experience is required.
Requirements
- Labor and Delivery/Obstetrics experience is required.
- Knowledge of nursing skills, hospital practices, procedures, and standards.
- Maintain and develop nursing skills through ongoing education, journals, and other means.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate the efforts of a team of care providers.
- Valid New Jersey RN license; approved licenses must be presented and maintained in accordance with the State of New Jersey Licensing Board and applicable department-specific requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care.
- Administer, monitor, and document therapeutic interventions and regimens.
- Effectively manage rapidly changing situations.
- Participate in clinical decision-making.
- Educate patients and families or responsible parties about disease processes, individual care needs, wellness, and safety issues.
- Delegate and monitor care provided by other members of the nursing department and healthcare team.
- Demonstrate standard precautions and patient safety principles in practice.
- Participate in orientation, education, and development of the healthcare team.
- Identify and participate in performance improvement activities.
- Maintain professional and departmental competencies.
