About The Position

The professional Registered Nurse has authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for delivering nursing care through the nursing process. The nurse accepts accountability, applies competent clinical knowledge and skills, and uses independent nursing judgment for care provided by themselves and by healthcare providers to whom care is delegated, with the goal of achieving quality patient care outcomes. The Registered Nurse demonstrates advanced-beginner-level knowledge and skills to provide care relevant to patients and applies principles of growth and development across the lifespan. The nurse assesses and interprets patient data to identify age-specific needs and provides professional nursing care in an inpatient hospital setting. This position is associated with Nursing Emergency Services at Weirton Medical Center.

Requirements

Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state where services will be provided, or a current multistate Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
One year of nursing experience.
Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, negotiate, and resolve conflict.
Competent clinical practice and critical-thinking skills to deliver patient care efficiently with healthcare providers while maximizing efficient use of resources.
Flexibility in response to changes in work volume, staffing, and scheduling.
Ability to work under highly stressful conditions and adapt to varying workloads and work assignments on a constant basis.
Ability to meet physical demands including lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and carrying materials or equipment weighing 40 pounds or more.
Visual acuity within normal range.
Hearing within normal range to assess clinical sounds and monitors.

Responsibilities

Modify patients’ plans of care based on collected data and individual needs.
