About The Position

The Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, delivering, and managing direct patient care using the nursing process and adhering to nursing practice standards. The role provides care in an emergency room setting and involves coordinating care from admission through discharge, with consideration for the developmental age of the patient population. This is a 24-hour-per-week day-shift position at UMass Memorial Health in Marlborough. The scheduled hours are 6:45 a.m.–3:15 p.m. The schedule includes every other weekend and every other holiday. The position is non-exempt and represented by the Massachusetts Nurses Association (MNA-Marlborough). A signing bonus may be available; eligibility is confirmed during the interview process. Compensation depends on scheduled hours, experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

Requirements

Current Massachusetts nursing licensure and registration.
BLS certification, unless current ACLS certification is held; unit-specific certifications and competencies may also be required.
Thorough knowledge of the nursing discipline.
Meet and maintain department-specific competencies.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Use the nursing process to deliver and manage patient care from admission through discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
Perform patient assessments and reassessments according to standard procedures.
Develop and coordinate individual plans of care, including discharge planning.
Direct, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care within the assigned clinical setting.
Delegate appropriately in accordance with job descriptions and competency levels.
