Registered Nurse, Emergency Room, Marlborough, Evenings, 24- Hours, 3P-11P
About The Position
The Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, delivering, and managing direct patient care using the nursing process and adhering to nursing practice standards. The role provides care from admission through discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population, and includes assessment, care planning, coordination, supervision, and delegation within the assigned clinical setting. This position is in the Emergency Room at UMass Memorial Health in Marlborough, scheduled for 24 hours per week on evenings, generally 2:45 p.m.–11:15 p.m. The schedule includes every other weekend and every other holiday.
Requirements
- Current Massachusetts nursing license and registration.
- Current BLS certification, unless current ACLS certification is held; unit-specific certifications and competencies may also be required.
- Thorough knowledge of the discipline of nursing.
- Meet department-specific competencies, which are maintained and reviewed by responsible managers.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Use the nursing process to deliver and manage patient care from admission through discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments according to standard procedure.
- Develop and coordinate individual plans of care, including discharge planning.
- Direct, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care within the assigned clinical setting.
- Delegate appropriately in accordance with job descriptions and competency levels.
