About The Position

Las Palmas Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The nurse performs patient assessments, develops and implements plans of care for infants, and evaluates care outcomes as part of an interdisciplinary team. The role includes coordinating safe and accurate care, supporting families, and collaborating with the Lactation Department and transport teams.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN).
• Associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or Registered Nurse diploma.
• One year of experience required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• No travel required.

Responsibilities

• Complete admission assessments of newborns.
• Create plans of care, including discharge plans; revise them based on patients’ responses to treatment and evaluate their effectiveness.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of infants and communicate changes appropriately.
• Administer medications and complete treatments according to hospital policy.
• Assist transport teams with infant stabilization and provide support and documentation to facilitate transfers.
• Provide families with support and educational materials on home care, treatments, adoption, and support groups.
• Assist mothers with breastfeeding alongside the Lactation Department.
• Delegate work appropriately to non-licensed staff in accordance with standards of practice.
