Registered Nurse (RN), On Call 7 On 7 Off Hospice
About The Position
Phoenix Home Care & Hospice is seeking an experienced, compassionate On-Call Registered Nurse to support its hospice team. The role provides timely, skilled end-of-life care to patients in their homes, responding to immediate needs during overnight and weekend on-call coverage. The schedule is 7 days on and 7 days off, serving Springfield, Missouri, and surrounding communities. The position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus. The nurse performs routine and as-needed home visits, triages urgent situations, and works with hospice physicians to support comfort and symptom management. The role also collaborates with the interdisciplinary hospice team, community partners, and family caregivers; maintains accurate clinical documentation and regulatory compliance; and participates in training, education, and quality initiatives. Phoenix describes its program as Medicare Certified and State Licensed and emphasizes compassionate, skilled, and integrity-driven home hospice services.
Requirements
- Missouri RN license or Compact License.
- Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work independently in home settings.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- High-level organization, time management, and emotional resilience.
Nice To Haves
- Hospice nursing experience; Overland Park hospice experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Respond to hospice patients’ and families’ immediate care needs during nights and weekends.
