About The Position

Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is hiring a 14-week traveler Registered Nurse for its IMCU/Stepdown/PCU. The RN provides a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, care coordination, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The role also follows professional performance standards covering ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN must have clinical knowledge and skills to meet the standards for the assigned clinical area and maintain any requirements defined by the specialty.

Requirements

• RN degree: ADN, BSN, or MSN.
• Valid RN license to practice in Virginia.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• At least 2 years of recent bedside RN experience in IMCU, SD, or PCU.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation.
• Meet professional nursing performance standards, including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health.
• Maintain clinical knowledge and skills and meet requirements specific to the assigned specialty.
