About The Position
Join Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - McKinney as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. Our ED is a fast-paced environment that cares for high acuity patients of all ages and stages of life. The leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member. The unit has 23 beds and patient/staff ratios comply with ENA Guidelines.
Requirements
- Graduation from an Accredited Program.
- Minimum of 2 years of high acuity hospital ED/ER experience.
- Specialized field of study in nursing.
- RN license.
- BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of starting.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients of all acuities, ages and stages of life.
- Adhere to ENA Guidelines for staff/patient ratios.
- Work in a fast-paced, high acuity Emergency Department environment.
- Participate in learning and mentoring opportunities.
- Utilize basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.
- Adhere to nursing and patient care standards, procedures, laws, rules, and guidelines.
- Apply knowledge of medical terms, health, disease prevention, management, common medications, and their side effects.
- Uphold medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Utilize problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
