RN - Registered Nurse - Med Surg - Multiple Shifts
About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with the healthcare organization’s established policies, procedures, and protocols. The role is in the 3 South Medical-Surgical department at UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham. Full-time day and night schedules are available: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 is available for full-time positions. UAB St. Vincent’s is part of UAB Medicine and serves Alabama through five hospitals and numerous clinics. The organization emphasizes compassionate, personalized care, teamwork, and attention to patients’ physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs.
Requirements
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
- Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing and professional licensure at the time of hire.
- BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Coordinate care among disciplines to support well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
