About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers, directs, and supervises patient care on the nursing unit using the nursing process. The RN plans, coordinates, and provides patient care, including interdisciplinary and discharge planning, patient and family education for post-hospitalization, and access to community resources. The position works under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, or Charge Nurse. Other related duties may be assigned or requested; Charge Nurse duties require current ACLS certification.

Requirements

Current registered nurse (RN) licensure in the state where the hospital is located, or compact licensure if the state participates.
Current BLS certification is required.
Evidence of ACLS certification is required within 90 days of employment; BLS and ACLS certifications must be AHA-approved within 90 days of employment.
Current ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses.

Nice To Haves

One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Use the nursing process to deliver, direct, and supervise care for patients admitted to the nursing unit.
Plan, coordinate, and provide patient care.
Participate in interdisciplinary planning and discharge planning.
Teach patients and families about post-hospitalization care.
Access community resources for patients.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested; Charge Nurse duties may be included.
