About The Position

Valley View Care Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for its skilled nursing team. Nurses provide specialized care to patients in areas including orthopedics, cardiac, respiratory, oncology, palliative care, infections, neurology, and dermatology. The role involves assessing patient needs and implementing care using current technology and working with an interdisciplinary team.

The position offers 12-hour shifts, with day or midnight shifts available. All shifts include rotating weekends and some holidays. Full-time and part-time schedules are available. Starting wages are $38.15–$40.15 per hour based on years of current certification, plus $3.40 per hour in hero pay, with the posting stating earnings of up to $43.55 per hour. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is paid in monthly installments.

Requirements

• Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current CPR-BLS certification.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree, or higher.
• Strong analytical abilities to prepare personalized care plans, implement effective nursing care and rehabilitation, and develop solutions to difficult problems concerning patient well-being.
• Excellent customer service skills and commitment to delivering excellent, passionate, innovative care.
• Teamwork and willingness to support team members and complete necessary work.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and implement appropriate care.
• Perform treatments including wound care, irrigations, IV therapy, tube feedings, chest tubes, and peritoneal dialysis.
• Administer medications as prescribed by physicians.
• Advise patients and families about medication changes, treatment plans, and patient condition.
• Provide preventative and supportive care for patients’ physiologic and psychosocial well-being.
• Promote hospitality and excellent customer service in interactions with patients, families, and visitors.
• Help foster a positive, supportive environment for patients.
• Oversee the Nurse Aide team by providing direction and assignments, offering training, and contributing to recognition and evaluations.
