About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Registered Nurses provide compassionate, excellent treatment to patients during vulnerable and difficult moments. The position is located inside ChristianaCare Wilmington in Wilmington, Delaware, and is per diem on the day shift with 12-hour shifts. The minimum per diem requirement is four shifts in a six-week period. Compensation is $53 per hour, with shift differentials for weekends, and a $5,000 sign-on bonus. The organization offers an extensive Registered Nurse orientation program and notes that demonstrated skills and dedication could lead to potential full-time opportunities.

Requirements

Valid state RN license.
BLS certification required at hire.
ACLS certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

Receive admissions and/or transfers to the unit.
Conduct initial and ongoing systematic patient assessments.
Document information accurately and promptly using appropriate systems.
Interpret assessment and diagnostic data, including laboratory results and telemetry.
Ensure medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately.
Demonstrate competence during Rapid Response and code events.
Instruct and counsel patients and families.
Perform other duties as assigned.
