About The Position

Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Tele) travel assignment in Saratoga Springs, NY. This position is in a hospital environment within a regional health system, specifically on a Telemetry/Med-Surg Telemetry unit. The contract duration is for several weeks, with an exact length to be determined. Orientation is approximately 24 hours, and pre-approved time off for 2 shifts is allowed. The role offers 24/7 recruiter and travel support.

Requirements

Active New York RN license in hand with Nursys verification
Certifications: BLS and ACLS
Minimum 2 years nursing experience in the Telemetry/Med-Surg specialty
1 year recent telemetry experience preferred
Telemetry skills: rhythm interpretation and management of IV cardiac medications
RN credential required
Epic experience preferred
Ability to float within the hospital as needed
Flu vaccine or documented exemption required
COVID-19 vaccine not required
Relias EKG exam required within 72 hours after signing; onsite EKG/proctored exam with high accuracy
HealthStream modules must be completed by deadline prior to start
Local radius restrictions apply; travelers must not have been permanent staff at Albany Medical Center within the past year

Responsibilities

Monitor adults and geriatric patients on telemetry, interpret rhythms, and respond to dysrhythmias
Administer IV cardiac medications and manage some continuous infusions as ordered
Provide stroke (CVA) recognition and initial management within stroke protocols
Collaborate with PT, Respiratory, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Work, Pharmacy, Rapid Response, Transport, and Unit Secretary to coordinate care
Maintain accurate charting in Epic and participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care planning
