About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse position specializing in Telemetry/cardiac care within a short-term acute care hospital setting in Olathe, Kansas. The assignment is for 13 weeks, with a start date of August 30, 2026. The role involves providing direct patient care, monitoring telemetry data, administering medications, collaborating with the care team, and educating patients and families. The nurse will be expected to float to all acute care units and work every other weekend.

Requirements

  • Active Kansas RN license and BLS certification
  • Minimum 1 year of recent telemetry experience
  • Ability to work 12-hour night shifts
  • Capable of floating to all acute care units and working every other weekend as required
  • Proficiency with EPIC or similar EMR systems; strong documentation skills
  • Credentialing expectations: CBC, DS, and lab work must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance
  • Registered Nurse degree and licensure to practice in Kansas

Nice To Haves

  • 2–5 years telemetry experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to telemetry/cardiac patients, following the plan of care and physician orders
  • Monitor telemetry data and patient status; interpret rhythm strips and respond to arrhythmias or changes in condition
  • Administer prescribed medications and intravenous therapies, including cardiac drips as indicated, and support initiation of Tikosyn/Sotalol per protocol
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EPIC electronic medical record; ensure timely and accurate charting
  • Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and the broader care team; participate in daily rounds and care planning
  • Educate patients and families about procedures, treatments, and post-discharge plans; ensure patient safety and comfort
