About The Position

The Registered Nurse will provide care in the Cardiac Intervention Unit (CIU), which serves patients admitted for cardiac catheterization and elective coronary interventional procedures, including PTCA, stent, and atherectomy; electrophysiology testing and/or ablation; elective electrical cardioversion; and permanent cardiac pacemaker or AICD implantation. The unit has a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5, and anticipated patient stays are less than 48 hours.

The CIU provides expert, quality care through an interdisciplinary collaborative approach, with the goal of helping patients return to their highest level of wellness. Care is intended to be convenient and centered on patients and families. New graduates are welcome.

Requirements

• Current RN license.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
• Must be able to work twelve-hour shifts and every other weekend.
• Exceptional patient care assessment and customer service skills.
• Ability to function independently and exercise judgment in interactions with physicians, the interprofessional care team, patients, and families.
• Passing a pre-employment drug screening is required.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Previous telemetry or cardiac experience preferred.
