RN - Registered Nurse ( Day Shift )
About The Position
Valley Hope of Boonville is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide compassionate medical care to patients receiving residential addiction treatment. Nurses typically work with patients from admission through discharge during 30–45 days of treatment. A nurse residency program provides tools to support success in the role. The RN carries out prescribed treatments and medication interventions, assists with detox admissions and patient care during detoxification, monitors patients, documents care, and communicates with nursing and clinical colleagues. The position is based in a residential treatment facility.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in nursing.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice in the state of employment.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Responsibilities
- Execute prescribed treatments and medication interventions established for each patient.
- Conduct detox admissions and provide care throughout the detoxification process, including pre-screening patients, obtaining physical assessment data and health histories, administering detox treatment plans, and monitoring patients.
- Follow established policies and procedures for medical emergencies, including convulsions, suicide-related emergencies, and Delirium Tremens.
- Maintain a safe and sanitary environment using infection-control techniques and universal precautions.
- Follow policies and procedures for protecting patient information.
- Record treatment activities and patient observations accurately and promptly in patient records, and complete required paperwork.
- Communicate with nursing supervisors, nursing staff, and clinical staff regarding patients’ treatment and status.
- Oversee non-licensed nursing staff as instructed by and under the direction of the facility Nursing Director.
