About The Position

Valley Hope of Boonville is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide medical care for patients receiving detoxification and mental health treatment in a residential addiction treatment setting. Nurses typically support patients from admission through discharge during 30–45 days of treatment, providing compassionate, hands-on care. Valley Hope offers a nurse residency program to help nurses succeed in the role. The position is on the day shift, 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in nursing.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice in the state of employment.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.

Responsibilities

• Execute prescribed treatments and medication interventions established for each patient.
• Conduct detox admissions and provide care during detoxification, including pre-screening patients, obtaining physical assessment data and health histories, administering detox treatment plans, and monitoring patients.
• Follow established policies and procedures for medical emergencies, including convulsions, suicides, and Delirium Tremens.
• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment using infection-control techniques and universal precautions.
• Follow policies and procedures for protecting patient information and HIPAA compliance.
• Record treatment activities and patient observations accurately and promptly in patient records, and complete required paperwork accurately and promptly.
• Communicate with nursing supervisors, nursing staff, and clinical staff about patients’ treatment and status.
• Oversee non-licensed nursing staff as instructed by and under the direction of the facility Nursing Director.
