About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU care to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Registered Nurses provide compassionate, excellent treatment to patients throughout their recovery. The role is based in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, and is scheduled for per diem night shifts. The minimum per diem commitment is four shifts in a six-week period. The hospital offers an extensive RN orientation program and the possibility of future full-time opportunities.

Requirements

• Valid state RN license.
• BLS certification required at hire.
• ACLS certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Receive admissions and/or transfers to the unit.
• Perform initial and ongoing systematic patient assessments.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation using appropriate systems.
• Interpret assessment and diagnostic data, including labs and telemetry.
• Ensure medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately.
• Demonstrate competence in Rapid Response and code events.
• Instruct and counsel patients and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
