About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. Registered Nurses provide compassionate, high-quality treatment and care to patients throughout their recovery. The position is located inside Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, and is a per diem night-shift role. The minimum per diem commitment is four shifts in a six-week period. An extensive orientation program supports a smooth transition into the role. Strong performance may lead to potential full-time opportunities.

Requirements

• Valid state Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification required at hire.
• ACLS certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Receive admissions and transfers to the unit.
• Conduct initial and ongoing systematic patient assessments.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation using appropriate systems.
• Interpret assessment and diagnostic data, including laboratory results and telemetry.
• Ensure medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately.
• Demonstrate competence during rapid response and code events.
• Instruct and counsel patients and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
