About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides and coordinates comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. The RN uses evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and skilled communication, and leads efforts to create the safest patient environment and best patient experience across the continuum.

The position is in the 32-bed Surgical Trauma ICU (STICU) at Carolinas Medical Center. The unit primarily cares for patients with traumatic injuries requiring critical care monitoring, surgical interventions, and post-surgical monitoring to support optimal recovery. The schedule is three 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with weekend and holiday rotation.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
• At least 6 months of RN experience; this position is not for new graduates.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of inpatient RN experience preferred.
